Azerbaijan has positioned itself as a major exhibition hub in the Caucasus and Caspian region. The capital, Baku, serves as the undisputed center of this activity, with the Baku Expo Center hosting a dense calendar of international trade fairs that draw thousands of professionals from across the region and beyond. These events are not merely showcases; they are strategic platforms where major contracts are signed, international partnerships are forged, and industry trends are set.
Here is a look at some of the largest and most influential exhibitions that define Azerbaijan’s business landscape.
Agriculture and Food: Caspian Agro Week & InterFood Azerbaijan
The agriculture and food sector dominates Azerbaijan’s exhibition calendar. Caspian Agro Week (formerly Caspian Agro) and InterFood Azerbaijan together represent the region’s premier agricultural and food industry events, held annually at the Baku Expo Center.
The scale of these exhibitions is substantial. The 2026 edition, held from May 5–8, brought together 447 companies from 45 countries. National pavilions from Germany, Belarus, Brazil, Georgia, Indonesia, Italy, the Netherlands, South Korea, and—for the first time—Egypt participated, with a dedicated stand representing the Africa-Azerbaijan Cooperation (AFAZ) organization. The exhibitions occupy all pavilions and the outdoor area of the Baku Expo Center.
Caspian Agro Week covers agricultural machinery, irrigation systems, innovative technologies, livestock and poultry, veterinary medicine, crop cultivation, and logistics. A Smart Agro section showcases artificial intelligence, smart villages, startups, IT services, robotics, and unmanned aerial vehicles.
InterFood Azerbaijan presents products across beverages, confectionery, dairy, bakery, fruits and vegetables, packaging, and halal food. In 2026, the exhibition was consolidated into a single pavilion (Pavilion 4) to allow visitors to explore all food sector innovations more conveniently.
Running concurrently with these events is Horeca Caspian, the Caspian International Exhibition for Hotels, Restaurants and Supermarkets, which serves the hospitality sector.
A distinctive feature of these exhibitions is the Gold Shah International Culinary Championship, a licensed event of the World Association of Chefs’ Societies. The 2026 edition featured 22 teams from 11 countries, with 73 foreign chefs participating. The exhibitions also organize tours for farmers from across Azerbaijan’s regions, with over 500 farmers from 51 regions attending in 2026.
Energy: Baku Energy Week
Baku Energy Week stands as one of the most significant and large-scale events of the year, serving as a critical global platform for dialogue on energy security, energy transition, and sustainable development.
Scheduled for June 1–3, the week encompasses three major events:
- Caspian Oil & Gas – the 31st International Caspian Oil and Gas Exhibition
- Caspian Power – the 14th Caspian International Clean Energy Exhibition
- Baku Energy Forum – the 31st Baku Energy Forum
Held at the same time is TransLogistica Caspian, the 23rd Caspian International Transport, Transit and Logistics Exhibition, along with the TransLogistica Forum on June 3. This platform discusses international transportation, transit routes, and logistics solutions, with participation from top management of major logistics operators.
Defense and Security: ADEX & Securex Caspian
The Azerbaijan International Defence Exhibition (ADEX) is one of the world’s most prestigious defense industry events and the largest specialized exhibition of its kind in the Caucasus. Held from September 30 to October 2 at the Baku Expo Center, ADEX serves as a leading platform for military-technical cooperation.
The 2026 edition marked a record expansion, with Pavilion 5 opening for the first time in the exhibition’s history. More than 200 companies from over 20 countries confirmed participation. The United States’ participation was particularly notable, with leading companies such as Lockheed Martin, Northrop Grumman, SIG SAUER, and Ondas making their debut. Germany participated for the first time, represented by Rheinmetall, as did the United Kingdom with BAE Systems.
Traditional participants include Türkiye’s ROKETSAN (General Sponsor), ASELSAN, Turkish Aerospace Industries, BAYKAR, and HAVELSAN; Italy’s Leonardo; the Czech Republic’s Excalibur Army; the UAE’s EDGE Group; and Spain’s INDRA. National pavilions from Belarus, China, the Czech Republic, Israel, Italy, Pakistan, Romania, Russia, Slovakia, Türkiye, the United Kingdom, the United States, and Uzbekistan were represented.
For the first time, Pavilion 4 was allocated to Azerbaijan’s national exhibition, showcasing the country’s defense, technology, space, and engineering sectors. This included the Ministry of Defence Industry, the Ministry of Defense, ANAMA (Mine Action Agency), Azercosmos (Space Agency), and various defense companies. A total of 45 foreign delegations from 33 countries registered to attend.
Held alongside ADEX is Securex Caspian, the 15th Anniversary International Exhibition for Internal Security, Safety and Rescue Equipment.
Construction and Infrastructure: Caspian Construction Week
Caspian Construction Week, held from October 14–16, is one of the region’s leading industrial platforms in the construction sector. The week brings together five exhibitions at a single venue:
- BakuBuild – the 31st Azerbaijan International Construction Exhibition
- Aquatherm Baku – the 18th International Exhibition for Heating, Ventilation, Air-Conditioning, Water Supply, Sanitary and Swimming Pool
- Rebuild Karabakh – the 6th Azerbaijan International Restoration, Reconstruction and Development of Karabakh Exhibition
- Plastex Caspian – the 5th Anniversary Caspian International Plastics and Polymers Industry Exhibition
- Road & Traffic – the 14th Caspian International Road Infrastructure and Public Transport Exhibition
The inclusion of Rebuild Karabakh reflects the significant reconstruction efforts underway in Azerbaijan’s Karabakh region, providing a dedicated platform for companies involved in restoration and development projects.
Healthcare: Medinex
The autumn exhibition season concludes with Medinex, the 28th Azerbaijan International Medical Innovations Exhibition, held from October 29–31. This event brings together medical equipment manufacturers, pharmaceutical companies, healthcare service providers, and medical professionals, serving as a critical platform for introducing modern medical technologies to Azerbaijan’s healthcare system.
Azerbaijan’s exhibition industry reflects the country’s strategic priorities and economic ambitions. From the established authority of Caspian Agro Week and InterFood Azerbaijan to the record-breaking expansion of ADEX, these events serve as essential gateways to the Caucasus and Caspian region. For international companies seeking to enter Azerbaijan or expand their regional presence, participation in these large-scale exhibitions remains one of the most effective strategies for building relationships, understanding market dynamics, and securing business partnerships in this strategically located nation.
