The main expo and public-facing events run from September 29 through October 2, 2026. However, the competitive Dairy Cattle Show and related activities begin earlier, starting September 27 and continuing until October 2.

The 59th World Dairy Expo will feature North America’s top dairy cattle competing in seven breed shows for the title of Supreme Champion. The show follows a split-day schedule with heifer and cow classes:
- Judges Announced: The official judges for the 2026 Dairy Cattle Show have been confirmed, including individuals evaluating the International Ayrshire, Brown Swiss, Guernsey, Holstein, Jersey, Milking Shorthorn, and Red & White shows.
- Entry Deadlines: Online entries for the cattle show opened on July 1, 2026, with the final deadline set for August 31, 2026. Late entries are accepted for an increased fee.
- Key Contests: Events include the Youth Fitting Contest and Youth Showmanship Contest, scheduled for Saturday, September 26.

- Animal Health Requirements: For 2026, there are specific health requirements for cattle exhibitors. A negative Influenza A PCR test is required for lactating cattle from states with “Affected” or “Provisional Unaffected” status under the USDA’s National Milk Testing Strategy. The expo is also monitoring New World Screwworm (NWS) concerns.
- Cattle Arrival Dates: All animals must be on the grounds by noon on Saturday, September 26. Pre-approved arrivals begin September 23, with the main arrival period from September 24-25.
