North America’s Premier Geospatial Event
Geo Week is North America’s premier geospatial and mapping technology event, convening thousands of professionals to explore how data, maps, and advanced technologies create solutions for complex challenges. The event serves professionals across sectors including surveying, engineering, construction, utilities, and government.
Key 2027 Event Details
The 2027 edition of Geo Week is scheduled to take place from February 23–25, 2027, at the Salt Palace Convention Center in Salt Lake City, Utah.
This marks a significant relocation for the event, which had been held in Denver, Colorado in previous years. The move to Salt Lake City positions Geo Week in one of the nation’s fastest-growing tech markets with a well-established geospatial ecosystem.
Why Salt Lake City?
Salt Lake City was chosen for its thriving geospatial community and tech-driven economy:
- Geospatial Ecosystem: The city and county maintain sophisticated GIS operations covering water systems, utilities, transportation infrastructure, public lands, and lidar acquisition for the entire region.
- Tech Hub Status: Salt Lake City ranks 3rd among large U.S. metros for overall economic performance, with tech accounting for 8.5% of the workforce and a $13 billion economic impact.
- Workforce Development: Multiple universities create a pipeline of skilled geospatial professionals, and the region has one of the highest concentrations of young professionals in North America.
- Diverse Environments: The city’s location at the intersection of alpine mountains, desert environments, and the Great Salt Lake provides ideal real-world geospatial applications.
2026 Event Highlights
The 2026 edition, held February 16–18 at the Colorado Convention Center in Denver, set new records and demonstrated the event’s continued growth:
