DreamHack Atlanta, the world’s leading gaming lifestyle festival, returned to the Georgia World Congress Center from May 15–17, 2026, for a weekend that shattered records and united the gaming community. Welcoming over 53,000 attendees from all 50 U.S. states and more than 60 countries, the event cemented Atlanta’s status as a premier destination for gamers, creators, and esports fans.
The Biggest DreamHack Yet
The 2026 edition was billed as the biggest DreamHack festival ever, driven by the debut of two major esports headliners. The city hosted its first-ever Call of Duty League® Major, featuring all 12 CDL teams alongside four amateur challengers. Adding to the excitement, the Intel® Extreme Masters (IEM) made its Atlanta debut, bringing elite Counter-Strike 2 teams to compete for a prestigious title. According to local reports, the IEM tournament featured a $1 million prize pool. Across the weekend, attendees competed for over $1 million in total prize money across numerous esports titles.
A Celebration of Gaming Culture
Beyond the high-stakes competitions, the festival floor offered something for every type of fan. Attendees could dive into free-play gaming sessions, explore an extensive indie game showcase, or browse a bustling artist alley. The festival also featured a major Cosplay Championship, where the community’s creativity shined. A special “Student Friday” provided an opportunity for educators and students to experience the festival, reflecting DreamHack’s commitment to community engagement.
Star Power and Unique Activations
The event drew more than 500 creators and special guests, including former NBA star Dwight Howard, voice actress Lana Rae, renowned cosplayer Yaya Han, and members of the hololive VTuber group. The festival floor was also home to a unique partnership with Lamborghini, featuring two Temerario supercars wrapped in exclusive, gaming-inspired liveries available for photo opportunities.
