The Chicago Boat Show (officially the Discover Boating Chicago Boat, RV & Sail Show) is the largest and longest-running annual recreational boating event in the Midwest. It is produced by the National Marine Manufacturers Association (NMMA).

Based on the annual schedule, the 2027 Chicago Boat Show is expected to take place in early February 2027. Several sources have pointed to the specific dates of February 3–7, 2027. This follows the 2026 edition, which ran from January 28 to February 1.
Venue and Location:
The 2027 show will be held at the Donald E. Stephens Convention Center in Rosemont, Illinois. The show moved to this location in 2025 after 93 years at Chicago’s McCormick Place, citing convenience for suburban attendees and lower setup costs for exhibitors. The move has allowed the show to expand, utilizing multiple halls to display over 450 boats.
What to Expect: Events and Attractions
The Chicago Boat Show is designed as a family-friendly experience. Beyond shopping for boats, RVs, and marine accessories, the show features a variety of activities.
- On-Water Experiences:Â Attendees can try stand-up paddleboarding or kayaking at the PaddleFest Pool, while younger visitors enjoy the Bumper Boats and the catch-and-release Huck Finn Trout Pond.
- Entertainment and Learning:Â The “Discover Boating Beach Club” offers a space to relax, while “Fred’s Shed How-to Center” (sponsored by Progressive) provides educational seminars for boat owners. Past shows have also featured virtual reality experiences and pop-up shops.
- Community and Atmosphere:Â The show brings together boating enthusiasts, families, and industry professionals. Past events have included special appearances, such as a “Boating & Football Feud” with Chicago football legends.
