Since its inaugural edition in 2009, Alpitec China, the International Trade Show for Mountain and Winter Technologies, has emerged as the premier B2B gathering place for the winter technology industry in the Asia-Pacific region.
There are 697 ski resorts operating in China as of 2025, and 19.83 million people visited these resorts during the winter of 2024–2025. 13 ski resorts (8 indoor and 5 outdoor) were constructed and opened for business during the 2024–2025 winter season. There are now 50 indoor ski resorts operating in China. The most notable development in recent years has been the explosive growth of the indoor ski resort industry.
