The 2026 meeting in Anaheim drew nearly 17,000 laboratory medicine professionals, featuring five plenary sessions and a Clinical Lab Expo with 700 exhibitors. Here are some of the key highlights:

  • Plenary Sessions: The program featured expert speakers who covered a wide range of topics. Highlights included a look back at five decades of diabetes research (Dr. David M. Nathan), challenges of monitoring astronaut health in space (Dr. Kathleen McMonigal from NASA), research on Alzheimer’s disease in individuals with Down syndrome (Dr. Elizabeth Head), innovations in cervical cancer screening and healthcare equity (Dr. Leeya Pinder), and the use of mass spectrometry to identify better testing and treatment for blood cancers (Dr. Arun Wiita).
  • Clinical Lab Expo: The exhibit floor coveredย 308,611 net square feet, showcasing the latest tools in artificial intelligence, clinical microbiology, molecular diagnostics, automation, and more.
