World Sustainable Development Summit New Delhi

The World Sustainable Development Summit (WSDS) is The Energy and Resources Institute’s (TERI) premier annual multistakeholder gathering. Since its inception in 2001, the Summit series has contributed more than 20 years to the globalization of “sustainable development.” The Summit platform has brought together global thought leaders, heads of state and government, academics, businesses, youth organizations, and representatives of civil society over the years. As a responsible and successful platform for energizing decision-makers to foster ambition and forward trailblazing initiatives to tackle some of the most pressing issues related to climate change and sustainable development, the Summit series has made a name for itself.

The Summit plays a significant role in producing new knowledge outputs in addition to serving as a forum for dialogue. This is embodied in the constructivism theory, which holds that students create knowledge instead of merely absorbing it. When leaders from different fields get together and think back on their experiences, they create their own representations and add new information to what they already know. The Summit and the Actt4Earth knowledge initiative, in their constructivist capacities, aim to strengthen commitments at all levels to raise ambition and take action toward building a more just and sustainable world for current and future generations.
