The biggest and most expansive yearly fashion event in all of Africa, Swahili Fashion Week gives fashion and accessory designers from Swahili-speaking nations and beyond a stage on which to display their abilities, promote their originality, and build relationships with both the global fashion industry and customers. The whole point of this is to support the Made in Africa idea while highlighting to the people in the area that fashion is a creative industry that generates revenue. Renowned Tanzanian pan-African designer Mustafa Hassanali established the Swahili Fashion Week platform in 2008.
Vision
Swahili Fashion Week is geared towards being the most sought out after and preferred fashion platform in Africa for the international market.
