The best event in London for contemporary dressmaking, sewing and stitch
The Stitch Festival honors dressmaking in particular, putting a focus on independent fabric designers and pattern companies. It also hosts an annual Dressmaking Competition with six divisions. But dressmaking isn’t all it is! With everything from macrame and cross stitch to crochet and embroidery, you’ll be surrounded by color and creativity. It’s a fun day out for those who are artistic!
The Stitch Festival features a shopping village full of independent dyers, boutique fabric companies, and major sewing machine manufacturers, among other specialty craft suppliers!
The Stitch Festival was introduced by Upper Street Events (a division of Immediate Media) at the Business Design Centre in February 2020.
Previously called The Spring Knitting & Stitching Show (the springtime equivalent of The K&S Show in Alexandra Palace), The Stitch Festival was created to provide a slightly different experience for contemporary makers.
One of the liveliest and most diverse neighborhoods in London, Islington, is the site of the Stitch Festival. It caters to those who sew as well as those who enjoy knitting, crocheting, cross-stitching, embroidery, and other modern crafts.
