Exhibition Topics

Renewables & Clean Energy
In Nigeria, hydropower accounts for as much as 63% of all renewable energy sources, making it the dominant renewable energy mix. Governments, utilities, and private initiatives face ongoing challenges when it comes to renewable energy technologies; however, advancements are being made through increased digitization, retrofits, and hybrid approaches. Nigeria, as it embraces other renewable energy sources like biomass and solar power, is also becoming one of the most alluring solar energy markets in the region to boost energy security and produce more electricity.

Back-up Generators & Critical Power
Nigeria has one of its largest markets for the production of electricity. Sixty percent of the population in the country is electrified, meaning 16 million households lack access to the national grid for electricity, making generators an essential component of peoples’ daily lives. Estimates show that, at 40% of yearly consumption, West Africa generates the largest amount of power from backup generators, underscoring the region’s heavy reliance on backup power. It will take investments in this area to provide power generation solutions and boost reliability.

Energy Consumption & Management
Growing demand for electricity, particularly in Africa, calls for significant development and dependability, which will be shaped by advancements in both domestic and international power infrastructure improvement. In order to successfully integrate into traditional energy infrastructure and meet demand for electricity continuously, electricity storage will need to make significant investments in the next ten years to keep up with technological advancements.

Transmission & Distribution
Africa has between USD 270 billion and USD 400 billion in transmission and distribution (T&D) investment needs. Rather than going toward foreign connections, the majority of this investment is going toward domestic transmission. Investing in alternative power strategies, such as renewable-promotion scenarios in nations and regions like Nigeria, is one way to reduce the cost of T&D.

Smart solutions
For the purpose of improving power infrastructure and guaranteeing cross-border dependability, intelligent solutions for the growing demand for electricity, especially in Africa, are essential. In order to meet the demand for electricity storage and seamlessly integrate into current energy frameworks, a substantial investment in cutting-edge technologies will be necessary in the upcoming ten years. In order to meet demand for electricity continuously, these clever solutions seek to maximize energy utilization, enable effective distribution, and enable continuous service provision.
