Artissima is the leading contemporary art fair in Italy. Since its foundation in 1994, it has combined a presence on the international market with a strong focus on experimentation and research.
Galleries from all over the world participate in the fair every year. In addition to the exhibition (Main Section, Monologue/Dialogue, New Entries, Art Spaces & Editions), Artissima is composed of three curated sections directed by boards of curators and directors of international museums, dedicated to emerging artists (Present Future), to the rediscovery of the pioneers of contemporary art (Back to the Future) and to drawing (Disegni). The three curated sections will be presented in the fair pavilion with monographic stands and on the Artissima Voice Over platform with a dedicated in-depth analysis.
In 2025, the fair will be held at the Oval Lingotto in Turin. The fair is curated by Artissima srl, a company belonging to the Fondazione Torino Musei.
SECTIONS
Main Section brings together the most established galleries on the international scene: the most consolidated names to offer collectors and the public a review of the highest quality.
Monologue/Dialogue is reserved for emerging galleries and/or those with an experimental approach who intend to present a monographic stand or a dialogue between the works of 2 artists.
New Entries is the section of Artissima reserved for the most interesting emerging international galleries, with less than 5 years of activity, participating in the fair for the first time.
Art Spaces & Editions is the special section of the fair dedicated to galleries and non-profit spaces that present editions, prints and multiples by contemporary artists.
Present Future is the section of Artissima dedicated to emerging talents, preferably under the age of 40. Artists are selected based on specific projects presented by the reference galleries. The section hosts monographic projects and aims to highlight the most innovative trends that are characterizing the international art scene. Present Future will be presented in the fair pavilion and on the Artissima Voice Over platform with a dedicated in-depth analysis.
Back to the Future presents monographic projects by pioneers of contemporary art, artists whose work has played a key role in the history of art. Back to the future will be presented in the fair pavilion and on the Artissima Voice Over platform with a dedicated in-depth analysis.
Disegni is the only section in Italian fairs dedicated to this expressive medium. It presents projects conceived as solo exhibitions that enhance the authenticity and autonomy of the work on paper. The section promotes the uniqueness of drawing and its innate immediacy, as the first translation of the artist’s idea into the world and the only unfiltered access to his way of creating. Disegni will be presented in the fair pavilion and on the Artissima Voice Over platform with a dedicated in-depth analysis.
