Central Asia’s Leading Energy and Electrical Engineering Exhibition
Powerexpo Almaty has established itself as the definitive B2B platform for the energy, electrical engineering, and power equipment manufacturing sectors in Kazakhstan and the broader Central Asian region. Since its debut in 2001, the exhibition has served as an annual meeting point for equipment manufacturers, technology suppliers, energy companies, and industry experts, earning international recognition for its role in advancing the region’s energy sector.
A Platform for the Region’s Energy Future
Held at the Atakent Exhibition Center in Almaty, Powerexpo Almaty brings together the full spectrum of energy industry solutions under one roof. The exhibition covers electrical equipment and power engineering, cable and wire products, renewable and alternative energy, automation and digitalisation, energy conservation and heat supply, and industrial lighting.
The event has grown steadily in scale and influence. In 2012, the Global Association of the Exhibition Industry awarded Powerexpo Almaty the “UFI Approved Event” designation, reinforcing its status as a genuinely international exhibition.
Record Growth in 2025
The 23rd edition of Powerexpo Almaty, held from October 21 to 23, 2025, alongside the 9th Kazatomexpo exhibition, demonstrated the event’s expanding reach and importance. The combined exhibitions attracted 234 companies from 17 countries, including Austria, Belarus, Belgium, the United Kingdom, Germany, India, Iran, Italy, Kazakhstan, China, Poland, Russia, Slovakia, Turkey, Uzbekistan, and the Czech Republic.
The event welcomed 3,813 unique industry visitors and recorded a 25% growth in scale compared to the previous year. Notably, 147 companies participated for the first time, reflecting the exhibition’s growing appeal as a market entry platform for international suppliers.
Supporting Domestic Manufacturing
A distinctive feature of Powerexpo Almaty is its emphasis on supporting Kazakhstan’s domestic manufacturing base. The 2025 edition featured 26 domestic manufacturers who presented their latest developments and solutions, highlighting the country’s progress toward energy independence and its focus on innovation, quality, and environmental responsibility.
The exhibition also hosted collective stands from various Russian regions, including the Republic of Mordovia, Perm Krai, Omsk Region, and the Mosprom Collective Stand, alongside representation from Kaluga Region, Chelyabinsk Region, and Sverdlovsk Region.
A Comprehensive Business Program
The business program accompanying Powerexpo Almaty serves as a critical forum for industry dialogue and strategic planning. The 2025 program opened with a plenary session titled “Modernization of Kazakhstan’s Electric Power Industry: Eliminating Deficits, Reducing Wear and Increasing Investment Attractiveness,” featuring participation from Vice Minister of Energy Sungat Yesimkhanov and senior representatives from the Atameken National Chamber of Entrepreneurs, KAZENERGY Association, KEGOC, and the Agency for Protection and Development of Competition.
The program included strategic panel sessions on tariff reform and the future of global energy networks, as well as dedicated sessions on the development of nuclear energy in Kazakhstan. The event concluded with the KazEnergoOTP-2025 Forum, focusing on localisation and the development of domestic engineering capabilities.
Institutional Support and Industry Backing
Powerexpo Almaty enjoys official support from the Ministry of Energy of the Republic of Kazakhstan, the Akimat of Almaty, Samruk-Energy JSC, KEGOC, the Kazakhstan Electricity Association, the Kazakhstan Association of Energy Auditors, and the Union of Power Engineers of the Republic of Kazakhstan, among other organisations.
The exhibition is organised by the Kazakhstan exhibition company Iteca and its international partner, the ICA Events Group.
