The Kazakhstan International Exhibition of Plastics and Chemical Industry, known as Plastex Qazaqstan, has quickly established itself as the premier specialized platform for the plastics, polymers, and chemical sectors in Central Asia. Debuting in November 2025, the exhibition was created to address a significant gap in the region’s industrial event landscape, offering a dedicated venue where manufacturers, suppliers, processors, and investors can connect and shape the future of the industry.
Filling a Critical Gap
Plastex Qazaqstan was conceived as a unique exhibition in Kazakhstan, providing a platform for showcasing innovations, services, equipment, and raw materials specifically in the plastics and chemical industries. The event focuses on establishing B2B and B2G dialogues, discussing global trends, and addressing current industry challenges through a comprehensive business program.
The exhibition covers the full production cycle—from raw materials and components to finished products—positioning itself as a catalyst for innovation in the processing sector. Its mission is to offer participants new business opportunities, strengthen professional connections, and facilitate knowledge sharing while supporting innovation and sustainable development across the entire Central Asian region.
A Successful Debut
The first edition of Plastex Qazaqstan, held from November 12 to 14, 2025, in Almaty, demonstrated strong regional and international interest. The exhibition brought together 44 companies from 6 countries—Kazakhstan, India, Iran, China, Russia, and Uzbekistan. Of these, 13 were domestic companies and 31 were international, confirming growing foreign interest in the Kazakh market.
More than 1,000 industry professionals visited the debut exhibition, including representatives from major companies such as SIBUR, KMG PetroChem, Samruk-Kazyna, Shell Kazakhstan, Coca-Cola Icecek Kazakhstan, Henkel, Hyundai Corporation, BI Group, Carlsberg Kazakhstan, and Astana Motors Engineering. The business program featured 8 sessions and 35 speakers from government, business, and academic organizations.
Exhibition Sections
Plastex Qazaqstan covers the complete spectrum of the plastics and chemical industry through dedicated sections including technologies and equipment for polymer processing, automation and peripheral equipment, raw materials and production inputs, molds and tooling, composite manufacturing, polyurethanes, rubber and elastomer technology, 3D printing and digital manufacturing, hydraulic and pneumatic systems, finished products and components, and recycling and recyclates.
Special attention is devoted to innovations in 3D printing, hydraulic and pneumatic systems, and recycling technologies—key directions for sustainable industry development.
A Strategic Platform for Industry Dialogue
What distinguishes Plastex Qazaqstan is its positioning as more than just an exhibition. The event functions as a key two-day industry conference where government and business shape the future of Kazakhstan’s plastics market. The 2025 business program included a plenary session on plastics market trends in Kazakhstan, a thematic session on local production development and the role of chemistry in automotive manufacturing, a panel discussion on chemistry in construction, and a practical ESG workshop.
Additional platforms including B2B Zone by KPI, ECO Zone, and Robo Zone by Astana Hub served as centers for interaction between specialists, investors, and technology companies promoting sustainability, digitalization, and production automation.
Market Fundamentals
The exhibition addresses a substantial and growing market. According to data cited in exhibition materials, the market volume of plastic and rubber products in Kazakhstan reached $1.94 billion for January-August 2025, while the chemical products market totaled $3.78 billion over the same period. Kazakhstan has attracted over $3.2 billion in foreign direct investment in its manufacturing industry, positioning the country as one of the region’s leading suppliers.
The 2026 Edition: Building on Success
Plastex Qazaqstan 2026 is scheduled for October 21-22 at the Atakent Exhibition Complex in Almaty, Pavilion No. 9. Companies from Kazakhstan, India, China, Russia, TĂĽrkiye, and Uzbekistan are confirmed to participate, reflecting the exhibition’s growing international character.
The 2026 business program will center on the theme “From Launching Petrochemical Production Facilities to High Value-Added Products.” The extended plenary session will address raw material supply for processing industries, investment opportunities, state support measures, and promising areas of deep processing.
Specialized sessions will examine the localization of polymer automotive components, construction chemicals and polymers as part of Kazakhstan’s industrial and infrastructure policy, and the economics of plastics recycling in Kazakhstan. These discussions will involve representatives from the Ministry of Energy, KazMunayGas, Kazakhstan Petrochemical Industries Inc., SIBUR Holding, and other key industry players.
Institutional Support
Plastex Qazaqstan enjoys official support from the Ministry of Industry and Construction of the Republic of Kazakhstan, the Ministry of Energy of the Republic of Kazakhstan, the Almaty City Akimat, the Atameken National Chamber of Entrepreneurs, and leading industry associations including KAZCHEMISTRY, PetroCouncil, the Association of Polymer Pipe Producers, and Polymer Market.
The event is organized by Kazakhstan’s exhibition company Iteca jointly with its international partner, the ICA Events Group of Companies.
Participant Perspectives
Feedback from the 2025 edition underscores the exhibition’s value. Olga Tleuzhanova of Polymer Market praised the organization, stating: “We are very pleased to participate in this exhibition. We thank the organizers for ideal organization… For the first year of launching such a specialized exhibition, the organization is at the highest level.” Bulat Galiev of An-Naml reported concrete business outcomes: “Contacts have been established for both supply and sales. Contact was established with KPI, and an application for raw material purchase was sent yesterday.”
Visitor Zarema Yessengaliyeva of Linde noted the event’s broader significance: “It is very pleasant to see that representatives of different spheres and companies gather on the platform—this creates a strong foundation for the development of the industry as a whole. Here there is an exchange of knowledge, opinions, experience—it is from such interactions that cooperation is born that moves the market forward.”
Looking Ahead
As Kazakhstan continues to develop its petrochemical and polymer industries, Plastex Qazaqstan is positioned to become an annual focal point for the sector. The exhibition’s mission—to support innovation and sustainable development in the plastics and chemical industries across Central Asia—aligns with the region’s broader industrial modernization goals. For companies seeking to enter or expand within this dynamic market, Plastex Qazaqstan offers a strategic platform where technology, business, and policy converge.
